What is the big difference ?

So much goes into both Mini sessions and custom photography sessions. Not only (Usually) does one person wear so many hats, but we also want you to have a great experience regardless of which type of session you prefer to choose. I always get asked what the biggest differences are between a mini session and a custom full session.

Session length

The biggest difference is the duration. Mini sessions are usually between 5-15 minutes max. Mini sessions or even Micro sessions are meant to be quick, easy in and out the type of deal! They are great for a large volume of clients to come through the studio in one day, and even better for little ones with short attention spans to capture some adorable portraits and get back to their normal routine without fuss. Although Full sessions are longer (Usually 30-45 minutes depending on the genre of the session) that doesn’t mean your little ones will be crying the whole time. With longer full sessions I love giving the little ones time to get used to the new environment. I encourage treats and toys they love to play with to ease the transition and get used to new faces.

Private studio wardrobe access

This one is very popular! Jevonna Wynter Photography offers a large selection of gowns for my clients. We recently just added some boy's suits, shirts and pants that are classic colours and styles in numerous colours. we also have an extensive girls' gown collection as well as beautiful maternity gowns that can be worn as non-maternity as well (They’re that versatile!) Not only do I give my clients full access to my private collection, but I also have tons of fun accessories such as; Angel wings in adults' and girls sizes. Bonnets for little ones (18 months and younger), crowns and tiaras as well as vintage toy cars for both boys are girls. This collection does not get rented out, so it is exclusive to my clients only.

Cost difference

Mini Sessions are generally much more inexpensive compared to full sessions. I always love to educate clients that full sessions you are getting the full experience that I have to offer. Its not to say that i wouldn’t offer the same quality service with a mini session, but its hard to truly get to know and grow with your family in a span of 5-10 minutes. Full sessions, i get to know you, and your family much better through the pre consultation meeting, the longer session, the question that is attached to your booking proposal to get to know names and personality as well as the longer session time so i can truly get those genuine smiles and relaxed poses. I find that I create a longer lasting bond with my clients when i have them in for a family session compared to a quick mini or micro session.

Mini session vs Full custom session?

After reading all of this; are mini-sessions a better fit for you? Or do you think the full custom sessions with Jevonna Wynter Photography is a better fit? Honestly, most clients do a great mix of both throughout the year. There isn’t a right or wrong answer here as both have benefits and drawbacks, but either way the goal is to capture your family. I hope I get to do that for you is your Durham Region Toronto Family photographer.
